Just bought this vehicle from a used car dealer he said it was the gas cap so I bought a replacement cap and cleared the code and it just keeps coming back on. Since exhaust gas is inert, it displaces oxygen and fuel, thereby lowering cylinder temps, which, in turn, lowers oxides of nitrogen emissions. This way the will think the valve is working. Is it 99% certainty that egr is the faulty component Many thanks. The information contained on this site is presented for informational purposes only.
. If your are for a different car, select that vehicle series before searching for the diagnostic codes because not all used by one manufacture are used by the other makes. When the valve opens this amount of air should be less then the mapped value since exhaust gas is being recirculated under higher pressure then the boost pressure delta p over engine!!! It should indicate a good ground. Lots on here about fixing that. Cleaning the rest of the system is simply a matter of removing any black stuff that has accumulated in the plumbing of the system.
Still trying to work out how the the 0404 is triggered, if the valve is working correctly how does the know the pathway is blanked? It sounds like the pintle is sticking open due to carbon build up. Circuit malfunction and rangeperformance could mean you need a new valve but could also mean theres a wiring fault in the circuit. Ive just spent 2 hours trying my best to make my present car Stilo throw up an error code by swopping plates but nothing no error codes. I did try to clean it, and the cel went out. All of these seem to me that the automatic system cannot give me real alert anymore. Most likely it failed to close correctly due to being covered in crap from the exhaust. Looking for general troubleshooting guidance.
Restrictor plate to Blanked off. Hi Ive just been using the Multiscan and for the second time this fault shows up. Without the the blanking plate, it doesn't. If you can take some of the hoses out and soak them, this helps. Also what I like to do is turn the valve upside down.
I know there's an 'official' line on blanking which is fair enough, your post doesn't imply this and is simply flippant. If you hear the valve inside opening and closing, this means that it's still working and that you can probably get away with cleaning to get things back in order. The light is still off for now. You just cut a snippet off, and place it over those annoying lights. The components tend not to be overly cheap, nor overly expensive, but it would be best to have someone test all of them to isolate the cause of the problem.
This lowers the temperature of the fuel burning because it cuts down on the oxygen that is in the combustion chamber. Then after that spin the pintle left to right while pushing the pintle up and down. Check engine lights being on is a pet peeve of mine, like most guys here probably. When I got the car and drove it home about an hour interstate it drove and rode great. Then fill the area with carbon cleaner then let it soak. You can try cleaning it using a carbon cleaner.
Anyways, are these two codes related? No dashboard warning lights are activiated for this. . Since exhaust gas is inert, it displaces oxygen and fuel, thereby lowering cylinder temps, which, in turn, lowers oxides of nitrogen emissions. Your car is running poorly. While in the car I checked if the brake lights function well but they did not turn on when a pressed the brake just flash randomly.
Later I noticed the id forgotten to plug in the sensor which screws into the bottom of the filter so I plugged it back in. What does fault code P0404 mean for Peugeot 307? Also, I tried cleaning around the pintle and where it seats. I get the codes-P0404 and P1404. When I started it it seemed a little rough and then when I pulled out on the main road the check engine when on and at the same time seemed sluggish. Ill give it a go try and create the fault on our 2005 Stilo. It's never good news, but there's always hope, especially if you're willing to try to diagnose the problem yourself before heading to your mechanic. Luckily, in most cases, all you need to do is clean these components to restore the system to its full capacity, which will turn off the check engine light and keep your money in your wallet.
You can do this with carb cleaner. . So what are you waiting for? I have a few probloms with my Stilo 1. The currently selected is for the Jeep makes. The Had someone out to look at it today and its come up with these error codes 1.
When i did a new read at the dealer the same faults show. I am wondering based upon code alone if I should be concerned? You're in the middle of imagining hundreds of dollars flying out of your wallet when you decide to ask if a new value is really necessary. This has been discussed many times in Stilo section of the forum, and tested on my own Stilo 8v. It has happened again three times today under the following conditons 2. Unfortunately, sometimes shop owners force their technicians to take the simplest, most obvious route rather than spending extra hours diagnosing a problem more thoroughly. It could be that the reservoir is low, or that the sensor in it is bad. I think that the p0137 code is for the O2 sensor that's behind the catalytic converter, but I'm not 100% sure.
