This morning my battery died so installed a new one. During that time they drivers side window would go down a little like normal when I have a 2007 new beetle that has a lot of wind noise at the top of doors on both sides. I had a mechanic look at it and he said it is the window regulator. I have taped over window and door but no change. Buy some electric contact cleaner in a spray can You can get it at Radio Shack and clean the micro switches with it.
There is a slight tear in the fabric so it looks like this has gone on for a while. All four of my windows have the same problems with regulators. Cold weather make battery voltages low and needs recharged with handbrake on headlamps off 10 minutes warming engine up the whole winter. They have tried changing out the gears as recommended by volkswagen but that did not solve the problem. The bug also has an electronic distributor. The glass was mostly in place but shattered. It has pulled this a couple times over three years.
Those are the only things I can think of but it doesnt mean Im right. Alittle about me I am in college at the moment and still cant spell so bear with me. I love the car but 3 days ago the radio just stopped working so I took it in the next day and they said I needed a new one this one shorted out so they ordered it. A few months into owning my prize the driver window started doing the same thing only worse. For the most part when you tap the button once the window goes all the way down and the same for coming up. The top happened to be down at the time.
Time to trade in already. The last thing you need to worry about is not being able to put your convertible top down in California because the power windows malfunction. When the drivers door is unlocked and you get in the car stick the key in the ignition all fine so far I guess turn the key to start the car and the alarm goes off. Anyone know of a way to fix it Thanks This ad is not displayed to registered members. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated! I'd have to roll the window down and back up for it to close completely reminder-freaking cold here! Key remote will lower window so that This beetle has gone bonkers.
This time the window fell halfway down and would not come up. I contacted customer service and they pretty much said there were no other complaints so there was no recall but that they would make a report of my complaint. The little hook thing is supposed to be attached to a little wire thing that runs toward the hinge of the door. This is supposed to reset the program. You can't tell me that it is a coincidence!!! Boy it sure sounds like a stuck micro switch on the boot interlock. I put the top down and when I rolled the back window down, it got stuck half way.
We decided to put the convertible top down. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I bought a brand new 09 beetle Conv. I bought my 2009 car in Nov 2010 with less than 10,000 miles on it. It only locked and unlocked with the key.
I have rebuilt alot of garden tractors and worked on cars for some time. I am still making payments of this car. I have owned only trucks so far in my life. After writing them down, I cleared the codes.
My advise As soon as it clicksrattlesbusts. It wouldn't go up or down, then suddenly fell down and was done working. That should get the top working again. Within the month of getting the 2nd window fixed the driver side rear window broke!! Is this normal Can it be fixed. If the door drains were clogged it could fill up in the door and spill over from underneath the door panel. Mar 08, 2013 Let me know when you said died it died completely even after the repairs you did the engine is not cranking or it does? The out side works just fine.
